Abandoned Dollhouse, Midtown

The picture shows a dollhouse in an abandoned lot. We can also see in the background some abandon houses. I think this picture tells us what the American Dream has become in Detroit. Before it was one of the biggest and flourishing city in the United States now it has become one of the poorest city. Before American Dream was define using the 5 milestone and one of them is having a (white picket fence) house. I think the abandoned dollhouse represents the white picket fence house that Americans dream of having before but now it seems to have become impossible to be able to have your own house in Detroit. Because of the situation they have in Detroit, which it showing how the American Dream has become impossible to achieve in Detroit.

I absolutely agree with you!! Its a beautiful picture, but after reading Detroit it gives me a very sad feeling and a need of wanting to help. However I feel like its a symbol that tells me they have reached the bottom and it can only get better from here on out.
