This picture represents despair in the US because although there politicians who promise us change that could benefit everybody, instead they used a portion of our taxes that we pay or government money for their own benefit. This is why government corruption is one of the roots that make it difficult to attain American Dream. Because if you think about it, if there wasn’t any corruption going on, there won’t be much state budget guts. In the article, “A Generation Hobbled by the Soaring Cost of College” by Martin and Lehren, it said that “”If lawmakers cut state financing, the school could make it up by raising tuition.” This means that college tuition would keep on rising as long as there is a state budget cut going on. And we all know that one of part of the American dream is being able to finish college. If tuition keeps rising up, it would become too expensive to many people. And this will limit people trying to gain a college degree from achieving their American Dream.
