Despair & Hope

Despair - This is an image around 1979 when the Khmer Rouge was in full effect. This little girl is holding her sibling. They have no home and was pretty left out to die. Pol. Pot was the leader of this ruthless regime. He didn't care what he was doing to the Cambodian population. In fact, he said he was doing all of the "peasants" a favor by putting them out of their misery. If this picture doesn't represent despair then I don't know what will. Imagine being in the girl's shoes. Hungry, scared, and tired, she lost all hope in the world. Asking herself how could someone be so heartless to such innocent people.

Hope. - This is a random picture I found on a religious website. Not sure where it came from, but at first glance it made me smile. Not only does it have the Disney font that gave me a flashback to all the awesome Disney movies but a simple message as, "Don't stop believing," could make me imagine that nothing is impossible. When I read this, I felt like there is a little glimmer of hope. That all my struggles will be worth it some day. I know I have a long road ahead of me but I will overcome every obstacle. Sometimes I would write little notes to myself like, "hang in there," for that motivation whenever I feel like I want to give up.
