This blog is an interactive place where you can share your writing with your classmates. The blog creates a great place for writing because it can easily be seen by other students in our class, and you can respond to your classmates' work, taking their ideas further. The blog format is meant to be less formal and more creative than the academic essays you write in class. This is where you can explore your voice as a writer, and take some risks with your style and ideas. Happy blogging!

DeParle Two Classes Divided
The reading from Two Classes Divided doesn't really surprise me about the opportunity difference between uneducated single moms versus educated married moms. I think that this reading relates to the book because Jeannettes parents weren't exactly stable enough to provide the right type of environment that allows them to receive extra curricular opportunities. Also at times the Walls kids did only suffer from their father not being around but their mother wasn't emotionally there as well. The kids were basically forced to learn to be independent from their parents at a very young age. Maybe it was because Rex and Rosemary were together the children were able to make it to college rather than dropping out and having children without an education.
