English 1B Section 9 Blog: meets MWF 10:00-11:50

This blog is an interactive place where you can share your writing with your classmates. The blog creates a great place for writing because it can easily be seen by other students in our class, and you can respond to your classmates' work, taking their ideas further. The blog format is meant to be less formal and more creative than the academic essays you write in class. What do these two men, Sam Walton and Jay Z, seem to have in common? What connections and/or differences can you find between these stories?
What does each story reflect about the American Dream?
How is each man's identity shaped by a particular place, or places? Does this man embrace or reject the place where he is from?
