Hope
Racism have been a problem in America for a long amount of time. Even though the circumstances
are better today, the problem still exist. I decided on this picture to symbolize hope. The picture shows Michel to the left and SJ to the right and is taken from the movie The Blind Side. The Blind Side is about a colored boy whom been abandon by his parents and is struggling in life. SJ whom is a very social boy gets to know Michel in school, and when SJ's mom decides to take Michel in to their Family SJ become his biggest supporter and best friend. The way this relates to the American Dream is because SJ's Family symbolize a typical "American Dream" Family, successful and a "Happy united family" whom look beyond color.
Despair
The American Flag means a lot to the American society and have it's rituals or rules how it should be handled. The Flag is a symbol of pride and hope for the American Dream. This picture symbolize the flag as a blanket around what it looks like to be a poor women or maybe even homeless seeking for support and warmth. This I look upon as a scream for help.
