My Visual Analysis of Despair and Hope in America

Despair: Poverty, Inequality and It's Connection To College In America

Poverty in America is a huge problem.

It was mentioned in class that this downward spiral of financial stability has continued to progress. It is well known that people who are born into poverty more often than not stay poor. This cycle can last for generations. It is a valid statement to say that individuals who are poor face more disadvantages and less opportunities when compared to those who are financially well off. This significantly relates to the topic of current college cost because people who can barely afford to survive have little hope of ever receiving any higher education. Due to this a terrifying trend has become more visible. It doesn't matter if you work hard or are motivated. The only thing that seems to have any value even in education is wealth. this is ultimately widening the inequality gap between rich and poor within the U.S.A. college educational system.

                                                          Hope: New Environmental Awareness

My greatest source of hope is not related to my source of despair.

On the bright side people are becoming more aware of the importance of conservation of species and the preservation of our earth/environment. I find it very hopeful and interesting that people actually care enough to make changes in order to prevent disastrous consequences that may not even effect them in their lifetime. To preserve and protect nature for future generations is a selfless thing to do. Dangers to the environment may not happen quickly but when the consequences do occur it's the future that will have to deal with it.
